Do you know if your website is backed up?

All of our clients websites have a retrospective back up. Which means everytime I or my client makes changes to their site our platform creates a copy of it. So at anytime if problems occur you can look back at your list of back ups and choose which one to do a site restore from, which can be invaluable to any business owner if the worst happens. From the time your site goes live you will be able to search through a catalogue of dated back ups to minimising any downtime of your site.
Here are a few reasons why you really should have a site recovery system in place.
1. We all make mistakes #HumanError
None of us are perfect, we can all make mistakes. If you are new to edited your your own website accidents can happen, complex elements of the site can get accidently broken or even deleted. So a backup of your site will not only enable you to correct your mistakes, it will save you time in not having to re build. Above all its one less thing to worry about right!
2. Site Security and Data Loss
No matter how secure your site is, we are all open to the possibility of being hacked or even being infected my Malware (this isn't just something that can affect your PC). Imagine over a period of time how many updates you have made to your site, not to mention all of your blog content, think of the hours that would take to recreate your content.
3. Compatibility problems caused after system updates
If you currently use WordPress as your sites platform or any other Content Management System (CMS), you could introduce an element that conflicts with other elements on your site, causing unexpected results on your site. By having a retrospective backup strategy you can quickly and easily resolve any such issues.
These are just a few key reasons why you should backup your website, at the very least check with your web designer if there is a solid backup strategy in place to keep one of your most important business assets safe.
